Did anyone ride the Whacky Shack at Hunt's Pier and how did it compare to other Bill Tracy attractions? I walked past it between 1980-1983 at night but didn't ride it. It was the only Hunt's Pier dark ride I didn't ride beside the Sourier Grotte (1984-1991) and Tomb (1981) I've seen a few pics of the inside on laff in the dark, and Bud Hunt's granddaughter sent me a scan of a floor plan, and there's a sound file at Chuck's Dark Rides but can anyone describe for me what it was like, and the correct order of the stunts. I understand that this was also one of the few Bill Tracy spook rides that had the clock and sawmill stunts, which are also in the OC, MD HH and were only in the attractions built until the late 60's. The Catanoso's who bought the pier in 1995 decided that it didn't fit with the pier since it was going dino in 1996 and scrapped it early 1996. I heard the props were saved and in storage in Wildwood. The Catanoso's sold the pier in 1999 to the Morey's.

Unfortunately, I have never been to Hunt's Pier. All of the information I have about Whacky Shack is posted on billtracy.net. I wish I had more, but that is all I have. Would you be willing to send me the scan of the floor plan, so we can add it to the site?

I rode it many times. It was completely Tracy stuff throughout. The graveyard was the best part, smashing through about7 pairs of tombstones while running over bumps. The bumps were actually pieces of old tires nailed to the floor positioned so the wheel of the cart would roll over it. There was an interesting female mummy with gyrating hips. Too bad it's gone.
