Judging by the skull thw witch is holding, I'd say it is Tracy. It's just the way it's shaped, especially the eyes. Some of the skulls here remind me much of this skull: www.laffinthedark.com/articles/tracy/tracy11.htmAnd this one here too: www.angelfire.com/notlmpresed/pcexterior/p5170093.jpgI couldn't find it in the catalogs, so it must've been a special project, like the birthday party stunt at Trimper's. You're very lucky to have this! So, I do think this is Tracy. But, I found a similar stunt that's not by him. But, this one truely does NOT match your prop, but it works the same way: www.laffinthedark.com/articles/adc/adcb5.htm (Scroll down, and you'll find it) Also, a color picture: www.laffinthedark.com/articles/adc/adcb1.htm (Scroll down, and it's in the top right picture in that section) Seen again at far right, bottom picture: www.laffinthedark.com/articles/adc/adcb8.htm

Very nice piece! Has this been repainted at all by either you or the collector you bought it from?
This is a very tough call. My initial thought is that it is not a Tracy stunt. True, the skull resembles a Tracy skull, but looking at the molds of the hands and the face, it just doesn't seem like something Tracy would make. It's very confusing because stunts in Le Cachot such as the Greek God were made by Pohl, even though initially, that could have very well been a Tracy gag.

In the Le Cachot article on Laffinthedark, it says that Tracy created a similar one for the Riverboat ride at Crescent Park. That one, described in the text, was a voodoo priestess stirring a head in a pot. But, it doesn't say that Tracy made this one. This really is a mystery.

To find the true answer to this question, I think we need to communicate with someone who is an expert on Henri Pohl rather than Bill Tracy. I believe Rick Davis from Dafe knows a bit about him.

Take a careful look at the molds of the hands for Pohl's Greek God/dog stunt in Le Cachot: Those molds resemble the molds in the stunt in question pretty well. I'm not saying its definite, but it's something to take note of.

Yeah, those hands really do look the same.

Hi Tom. My name is Wayne, founder of The Bill Tracy Project, and I am glad to see that the Witch/Cannibal is in good hands, even though Brandon and I do not believe it is a Bill Tracy stunt. I live in Pittsburgh, am 32 years old, and rode Le Cachot almost every year from the mid 80s until it unfortunately closed. I remember the facade very well, but I do not remember the inside of the ride very well. I remember, as if it were yesterday, waiting in line watching the skeleton's head swinging behind the prison bars and also another skeleton's hair blowing! Kennywood used to be a great place for dark rides, but not anymore. Do you know where any other stunts from Le Cachot ended up? Thanks for your comments on our website...I am glad you are enjoying it!

I would love to see the Old Mill returned to the Haunted Hideaway...that is the version that I grew up with. I believe it was officially called Hardheaded Harolds Horendously Humorous Haunted Hideaway and opened under that name in 1974...if my memory serves me correctly! From what I remember it had kind of a Tracy-feel to it.

I do vaguely remember that scene. The Haunted Hideaway was rethemed in 1974 by Edward Hilbert of Unique Design Company. As far as I know, he was a competitor to Tracy and his work/style was very similar.
