at Waldameer, the place where the drunken pirate seems to fit has rats instead. The drunken pirate then appears in wacky shack. Did they move it or did W.S.'s comes with the ride? I also noticed looking at the floor plan blueprints for pirates cove that a stunt is gone and now more rats. What exactly happened?

Well, I think the drunken man in the Whacky Shack is original. I have no idea about the Pirate's Cove, though! Maybe the other drunken guy went to the same place where all the other Tracy stunts go....to the junk yard. How sad... When I went to the tour at Waldameer in May, they said that absolutely nothing has been changed in the Pirate's Cove. But, quite obviously the Rats in the tilt room, as you said, and that creature with bones around it is pretty rescent. One thing I am wondering about the blueprints of the PC is that "Lunging Hermit".....

I will try to explain what happened...hopefully I make sense! The drunk figure that Randy S. just restored in Whacky Shack's tilted room is original to that ride and is not a pirate, just a guy. The tilted room in Pirate's Cove used to have a cannon stunt, that never worked that great, and was removed. This is where the rats are today. The coffin stunt and lunging hermit stunts were combined into one stunt which left one stunt space empty. You can see the lunging hermit behind the coffin with the skeleton sitting in it. The empty space now has the "gorilla monster" or whatever you want to call it sitting there today!

So do you know anything else about this cannon display? By the way, thank you for coming back!

I believe the cannon display was a mechanical stunt that contained cannon balls that seemed to roll "uphill". It was an illusion based stunt that supposedly never worked very good. I have never seen pictures of it. Let me see if I can find out more about it, when it was removed, and what happened to it. Sorry I was MIA for awhile...this past year was crazy and I had a lot on my plate...it feels good to be back!

They had the cannonballs rolling uphill in the Pirate ship on Hunts Peir back when it was still newer, The stunt went away by the end of the 60's.
