That was one of my favorite rides at the "old" Dorney Park, pre-Cedar Fair. The Journey Ride was an old mill chute ride with scary scenes on the left through a twisting cave, then a lift up outside with a roof over the lift and then the splashdown into the pool. I have video scenes from it on my YouTube, rwk360 from a TV show about Dorney Park and other eastern PA parks. Harris Weinstein ran DP from 1985-1992 before selling it to Cedar Fair, and before 1985 Bob Ott who married Bob Plarr's daughter ran it since 1967, and Bob Plarr ran it before Bob Ott. Bob's son Stephen took over in 1966 following his passing, but he passed a year later and the park went to his sister, Sally who was married to Bob Ott. Ott also had a son, Bob who became his right hand man in the 70's and early 80's. Ott Sr. became chairman of the board in 1980, and he, his wife and son retired in May, 1985 and Harris Weinstein (who married Stephen Plarr's daughter Debora) took over for the next 8 years.

Oh, and Bob Ott and his wife passed away in March, Feb 2007 they had lived at a retirement home in west Allentown a few years. I met Bob Ott twice, at the park for a book signing around Aug 2005, and again at a talk at an old mill house near Whitehall Twp.
