Did you ever notice that door next to the vampire thing above you in the Waldameer Whacky Shack? I've always have seen the vampire, but it wasn't until last summer that I finally saw it. Did this used to open? And why would a door be up that high? Picture: notlmpresed.angelfire.com/waldameerwhackyshack/whacky14.jpg

I have seen the door in photos, but I am always too busy trying to get a good look at the ghost and forget to look at the door. I will make it a point to look next summer, I usually go there twice a summer to get my Tracy fix! I don't know if the door opened or not. The door and ghost being positioned up high is "classic" Tracy. He always liked to confuse riders and keep them on edge. Placing a stunt up high keeps a new rider guessing as to where the next stunt may appear, anywhere is possible. There also may have been a physical limitation in the building that forced the door and ghost to be placed up high. Either way, the location adds to the bizarre nature of the stunt.

This door was put in the Whacky Shack in the early 80's. It was orignally the front door of Mr. Nelson's mother house who lived on the park grounds. The house was just west of Rainbow Gardens. Also, the ghost you see in the pic is not a Tracy prop but was made by a company called Fear Tech

Oh, okay. It's funny that he put his mother's door in there. Another question, what is in that display window in the tilt room?
